On this Father's Day, I'm reflecting on my Dad, the man who inspires me, even in his absence. On February 16th, 2024, the last conversation I had with him before he entered the ICU was Dad saying (with conviction) to my older sister and me, "We need to take a big family trip this summer. We're gonna go somewhere...it's time." Sadly, we never got to take that trip, as dad passed away on Easter Sunday. During those 46 days that he spent in the hospital, it became clear that my tenacity, quick wit, and drive to succeed were traits I shared with my father. Growing up, we never traveled as a family, as the dairy farm kept us tethered to home. After college, my professional endeavors have allowed me to see many different places around the globe, and afforded me the ability to take vacations. My husband, two daughters, and I prioritize travel, as it allows us to unplug from the day-to-day and we love seeing new places, experiencing new cultures, and learning new things. The events of 2024 have led me to leave the corporate world (at least for a bit), so I can focus on my family, traveling, and helping others see and experience this big, beautiful world.
