Meet Kristy, Owner & Chief Travel Curator

I’m Kristy Johnson — travel advisor, corporate refugee, wife, mom to two daughters, scrapbooker, and the person who approaches a trip itinerary the same way I approach any creative project: with obsessive attention to detail, a clear sense of narrative, and the conviction that the best journeys are the ones that feel intentional from the first day to the last.

My Background

I spent over two decades in corporate America, in sales, marketing leadership, and strategic planning, before starting WonderCrafted Travel. That background isn’t incidental. It’s why I’m good at this. Managing a 14-day, four-country itinerary takes the same skills as managing a major product launch: anticipating problems, building contingencies, coordinating multiple parties, and never losing sight of what the experience should feel like for the person living it.

I’m based in Glen Carbon, Illinois — the St. Louis Metro East area — and I serve clients across the country. I’ve personally experienced 25+ countries across five continents as a traveler, a researcher, and an advisor trying to understand what makes one experience genuinely transformative and another simply forgettable.

I’m also an avid scrapbooker, and that background gives me an eye for detail, story arc, and memory making that carries into every itinerary I build. Each day is planned to connect into a story worth telling, and every client comes home to a handmade welcome home card.

Who I Work Best With

  • Travelers who have been dreaming about a trip for years and are finally ready to do it right
  • Those ready to invest in a trip that will genuinely matter, not the lowest price
  • People planning something complex: multiple destinations, multiple generations, multiple interests to balance
  • Anyone who wants an advisor who handles the complexity so they can focus on the experience

The difference is almost never the destination — it’s the personalization, the way a
trip is shaped around who you are and how you actually want to travel.
